Health Insurance Quotes
Not Really A Hollywood Quote
Once you've made the decision to go ahead and sort out some health insurance – you need a quote to know how much it is going to cost you in total and what exactly is covered.
The quote needs to be a written one and issued by a legitimate company. Don't laugh when I say that the guy next door who works in the health section of your local store won't do – people have actually tried to do just that!
You can get your quotes from issuing companies on-line or direct over a telephone, whichever is easiest for you.
The benefit of getting them on-line is that you'll be able to print it out there and then and get a basic idea of what's covered and what isn't by reading the attached conditions. With a phone quote you need to wait for the paperwork version to get to you via the mail.
Couple of things to bear in mind when you get your quotes for health insurance.
Make sure you get more than just one or two quotes – aim to get a minimum of 5 and try to get nearer to 10. Sure, it takes time and effort to go for 10 but you can stand to save money and mistakes by having more to compare.
Always tell the truth when answering the questions on which your quote will be based. If you have anything you think needs declaring, declare it. If you are getting a phone quote, make sure you get the name of the person you are speaking to and an acknowledgement from them that you included that info in your conversation. (Check the paperwork when it reaches you and ensure anything unique is noted!)
Sure – disclosing medical history might cost you with a bigger premium – but that is still much cheaper than having to pay the whole bill when your insurers pull out because you failed to disclose all information at the time of taking our the insurance.
