Cheap Health Insurance - Cheap Doesn't Have To Mean Poor!
Cheap Medical Insurance doesn't have to be the type of thing that ends up costing you more than it should do.
Although the common saying is “You get what you pay for”, buying medical cover at a lesser price than companies would have you first believe necessary is something that can save you money AND give you what you need.
Here are a few ideas for bringing your costs down:-
1. Look towards being a member of a Group Health Plan where you all share the costs and expenses.
Either by starting one up yourself or by looking to the larger associations and applying to join theirs, group plans give you the ability to 'group together with others needing the same thing' and benefiting from a reduced cost by sharing.
These groups tend to create their own policies with varying levels and types of cover so make sure you check out and sign up to one giving you what YOU need!
2. Extreme Sports.
I know that this sounds weird but I'm not actually suggesting you take up any extreme sports. But if you do currently participate in extreme sports or dangerous activities, be aware that this will hugely increase your premiums. If it's possible to stop or reduce the level of exposure in these activities, you'll find a greatly reduced cost of insurance!
3. Discount Medical Cards
Across the country, groups and networks of doctors and medical support staff have agreed to offer various medical services at lower cost for carriers of the Discount Card.
There is a small monthly fee for having the card which entitles you to use this network of doctors and providers at a reduced cost. It's not free but it is cheaper than you'd pay for a full or partial policy
4. Pay Yearly.
Finally – although it doesn't work in all cases and is relevant to the company offering you the policy – paying for your cover annually can get you cheap health insurance against the monthly cost of the same policy!
Even if they don't offer it as a standard, offer them the option that as you'll pay in one lump they're admin costs will be reduced as will their bank charges – a saving they could pass on to you!
