Okay, let's all hold up our hands and admit it, feeling even remotely sick is not fun, even if it is just a slight nagging headache due to a hard day at work or home.
If you want to add insult to injury and actually make yourself feel a whole lot words, imagine being hit with a huge bill from your doctor for treating you!
Sadly, if you don't have any form of medical cover or health insurance - that's exactly what will happen to you! Now, I know it's easy to write that but hard to actually do it. As advances in medicine continue to mount up - so to does the price of the various drugs, treatments and care we can use to heal ourselves. If the cost of the actual medicine is going up then you just know that the cost of the health insurance is going to climb higher at the same time! This is where you actually being able to find a health insurance policy that covers what you want it to cover yet still be affordable comes in.
Phew - time for a challenge.
A lot of the price you'll pay depends on what type of insurance plan you look to take out. You'll find that various options of what you pay up front determines what your insurer will pay out on later, maybe!
So you may have insurers quoting policies to you that mean you have to pay out a huge sum as a co-pay (or deductible). Other ones may expect you to pay huge monthly premiums for the cover itself. (They gamble that you'll not need to use it at all or certainly not until you've effectively paid so much up front that they still make a profit anyway!)
You'll even probably come across some companies that want you to pay a huge monthly sum PLUS pay a large opt-in payment up front before any treatment.
Finding an affordable insurance policy for health will not be easy. I don't say that to scare you or put you off - I say that because I then follow it up with my next paragraph.
Even if the potential cost makes you think you should give up - don't! You are playing with a serious issue that WILL cost you, big time.
Whether you are single, married, have children or have nobody - you must get medical insurance asap.
Everyone - and please note that everyone at this point means YOU - WILL fall sick at some point and need some form of corrective work done, whether major or minor. Without insurance, even the minor work will cost you a HUGE amount.
If you have no insurance - you will have to pay the full costs yourself and this could cripple you financially for years to come.
If you have children - having no medical insurance means you are playing with their health! Not cool!
Everyone should have their health insured and covered - however much it might cost.
